Our mission is to make it as easy as possible to take advantage of these tools. From the Newfoundland & Labrador CAP Site Webpage:

The Community Access Program was developed by Industry Canada in 1995 to help communities in rural and remote settings obtain affordable public access to the Internet and the skills to use it effectively. This was done through the establishment of community-based public Internet access facilities.

In 1998, federal and provincial governments partnered to offer what is now the Community Access Program Newfoundland and Labrador. Today, the Department of Education administers nearly 170 CAP sites.

In communities large and small, people young and old visit their local school, library or community centre to log on, and get connected. They can access cutting-edge technology, training courses and multimedia services or investigate business opportunities. Staff at each CAP Site provides helpful assistance and guidance, as clients seek opportunities for growth in the comfort of their own community.

CAP is not just about computers and the Internet, however. It's about people and communities across the province and the country having the same opportunities to learn new skills and explore the world. Geographical boundaries disappear at a CAP Site, providing a window on the virtual world.

You don't need a membership. You don't need superior skills. You need a desire to be engaged.

We invite everyone to drop by their local CAP Site, and make a connection!

The Burlington CAP Site offers many computing, internet, and printing services to the public.
